İbrahim Şirin, musician, actor, and conductor (b. 1947)
İbrahim Şirin was born in Manisa, Turkey in 1947. The son of Dursune Şirin, it’s no surprise that he also followed in her footsteps. A graduate the music program of Istanbul Conservatory, he’s a trained musician and has appeared in both cinema and television. He worked alongside stars such as Cüneyt Arkin in Aram Gülyüz’s Sevgili Babam (1969) & television series such Olacak O Kadar. He also performed either as an actor or musician in plays hosted by Istanbul Municipality City Theatres, such as Bizans Düştü, Macbeth, & Yaprak Dökümü. We could say his last name (şirin, cute or pleasant) is quite fitting for his voice. Some might recognize him for his rendition of classic songs such as Dalgalandim da Duruldum (Ne Olursun Güzelim Sevsen Beni). A resident of Istanbul, he is married, has three children, and continues perform in the city’s theatre as a musician and actor. He also an active conductor of the Turkish Classical Music choirs.
